Why Volunteer in Honduras? |
| |
Honduras offers many rewards for the adventurous traveler including pristine beaches, dense jungles, friendly locals, and cheap and delicious food. Along with many countries in Central America, Honduras is steadily modernizing and developing due to the unstoppable forces of globalization. However, economic growth remains slow and the distribution of wealth is greatly polarized, creating huge gaps between the rich and the poor. This widespread poverty, combined with the effects of a strong HIV/AIDS epidemic, has left many children in Honduras orphaned and without access to a proper education. |
