What Volunteers Can Do:
Volunteers in this program willtake care of orphans in La Ceiba, Honduras. You will lead games, organize arts and crafts activities, and help with homework. You will also teach basic English and valuable computer skills to the children so that they can be better qualified to find employment and improve their future.  Your energy and affection will go a long way in making a positive impact on these orphans' lives.

Why Volunteer in Honduras?
Honduras offers many rewards for the adventurous traveler including pristine beaches, dense jungles, friendly locals, and cheap and delicious food. Along with many countries in Central America, Honduras is steadily modernizing and developing due to the unstoppable forces of globalization. However, economic growth remains slow and the distribution of wealth is greatly polarized, creating huge gaps between the rich and the poor. This widespread poverty, combined with the effects of a strong HIV/AIDS epidemic, has left many children in Honduras orphaned and without access to a proper education.

Honduras Child Daycare Program Goals:
The goal of the Honduras Child Daycare Volunteer Program is to provide care and support for orphaned children, as well as to give them a chance for a better future. The program accomplishes this goal by matching caring and enthusiastic volunteers with children who are in dire need of affection. Volunteers will also educate the children and provide training in essential job skills, giving them a chance to find employment and an opportunity to improve their living conditions.  Your kindness and energy will be a positive presence and an inspiration to the youth of La Ceiba, Honduras.
