Day 1
Arrival, City Tour
Welcome to Mexico! Upon your arrival at the airport in Guadalajara, a van and a representative from our partner organization will be waiting to take your group to the hotel in Tapalpa. You will have the opportunity to unpack, rest, and eat a snack. Your group will then participate in an orientation and a walking tour of the city.

Day 2
Volunteer Orientation
After breakfast, your group will go to the project to learn about our local partner organization, what they do, and how their organization works. You will then visit local public schools where you will be working during your experience abroad. You will go back to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, you will return to the program center to learn how the local organization makes art from recycled materials and trash. Later, you will return to the hotel for dinner and then have the opportunity to relax.

Day 3
Volunteer Work
After breakfast, you will be assigned volunteer activities. A van will transport you to the location of your volunteer duties and then will pick you up again at midday for lunch. In the afternoon, you will go back to the program center to finish the art projects that you started the day before. You will return to the hotel for dinner and then have the opportunity to rest.

After breakfast, you will be assigned volunteer activities. A van will transport you to the location of your volunteer duties and then will pick you up again at midday for lunch. In the afternoon, your group will take a tour of the town with a local historian in order to learn more about the history of Tapalpa. During the excursion, you will have the chance to buy souvenirs, eat an ice cream in the plaza, and relax. You will return to the hotel for dinner and then have the opportunity to rest.

Day 6
Excursion to Traditional Ranch and Salto del Nogal

From there, you will travel to one of the most beautiful natural wonders of Tapalpa—a waterfall that drops 300 feet known as the Salto del Nogal. Lunch will be served on the trip.
