“[My favorite part of volunteering was] meeting new people and working with the children. It was interesting to see different types of after-school care in another country.”
Caroline Karoczkai
"This program allowed me to take Spanish courses and volunteer at the same time. I was able to accomplish a lot in a short period of time. [My favorite part of the experience was] feeling like [I] really connected and made a difference in the community."
Community Outreach Project Buenos Aires, Argentina
Help Argentina’s residents in need when you volunteer with our Community Outreach Project in Buenos Aires.
Volunteers with our Community Outreach Project will have the opportunity to work hands-on in a wide variety of projects designed to benefit residents in one of Buenos Aires’ most economically depressed neighborhoods.
You will spend your time helping out in community centers, churches, soup kitchens, elderly homes, and in some cases, health workshops, providing basic services like childcare, meal preparation, English lessons, and assistance for the elderly and people with special needs.
As a volunteer in Buenos Aires, you will not only be helping members of the local community
meet their basic needs, but will also have the opportunity to serve as a mentor and role
model, encouraging both adults and youths to realize their full potential.
As a volunteer you can:
Prepare food baskets and deliver them to families in need.
Cook and serve afternoon snacks or evening meals.
Provide daycare for young children.
Visit the elderly in nursing homes.
Organize recreational and/or educational activities for children and adolescents.
Tutor students after school.
Work on small construction or painting projects.
Work with disabled people.
Provide informal English lessons.
Fundraise and collect donations of food, clothing, medical supplies, and other materials.
Develop and execute special workshops (drama, music, dance, exercise, photography, art, health, etc.).
Organize field trips.
Assist with administrative tasks and record-keeping.
Our Partners
Our partner organizations in Buenos Aires take an active role in helping people who are living below the poverty line. This means reaching out to the population most in need and ensuring that their basic needs are being met on both a physical and emotional level. Throughout this process, the program aims to find ways to educate children, teens, and adults from economically
disadvantaged areas, and provide them the tools and encouragement they need to break
out of poverty.
