"I went to a soup kitchen to teach English to a group of children. I was thrilled to see how excited the children were to learn and how patient they were with me in the beginning. It was very rewarding to know that as a volunteer, you are making an impact on these children’s lives and showing them how much you care."
Alison Barron
“[My favorite part was] getting to see a part of the city I never would have seen otherwise [and] meeting all types of people.”
Teach English to Argentina’s underprivileged children, adolescents, and adults when you volunteer with our Teach English Project in Buenos Aires.
As a volunteer with our Teach English Project in Argentina, you will be working in local community centers that desperately need teachers and support from native English speakers. In most cases, you will be responsible for planning your own classes according to your students’
needs and teaching those lessons with creativity, patience and compassion.
In some cases, volunteers may be working as teacher assistants with an Argentine teacher. You may also work in an unemployment center providing important training to unemployed or underemployed adults who are looking to acquire more job skills. In addition, you will have the opportunity to help students with their homework, organize games, and assist the centers with administrative work.
Volunteers in Buenos Aires will not only be teaching English to students who would otherwise have little or no language instruction, but will also have the opportunity to mentor and be a role model for Argentineans of all ages.

Our Partners
Nonprofit groups throughout the country are taking on an increasing role in helping people who are living below the poverty line, especially in the area of education. One of their main goals is to find ways to help youth and adults from economically disadvantaged areas progress, and to give them the tools and encouragement they need to break out of poverty. This means developing educational and job training programs, providing day care for parents who must work, and creating programs that give local students the opportunity to learn English from native-speaking volunteers.
