"The volunteer program [in Argentina] has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. The children were some of the sweetest kids and were always eager to learn. I grew to admire their optimism in a life and situation that seems could be nothing but a constant struggle. A
rewarding, life-changing experience such as this is a necessity in anyone's life."
Change the lives of Argentina's at-risk youth when you volunteer with our Youth Outreach Project in Buenos Aires.
As a volunteer with our Youth Outreach Project, you will have the opportunity to help Argentina’s at-risk children and teens reach their potential, while also working toward breaking the cycle of poverty that affects so much of the country. Volunteers will work in a hands-on environment at community centers, soup kitchens, halfway houses, and shelters. You will also organize recreational activities, conduct educational workshops, help with homework, among many other tasks. Regardless of the activities in which you participate, you will be an important role model for many young Argentineans.
As a volunteer you can:
Organize recreational and/or educational activities.
Play sports and games with children.
Prepare and serve snacks and meals.
Develop and teach special workshops (music, drama, dance, photography, art, etc.).
Give informal English lessons.
Help with homework.
Organize book drives.
Develop special English workshops (games, music, art, interviewing, resume writing, etc.).
Collect donations of food, clothing, and other materials.
Work on various administrative tasks.
Potentially organize field trips.
Our Partners
Our partner NGOs in Buenos Aires have taken an active role in helping children and their families who are living below the poverty line. Their goal, first and foremost, is to ensure that the basic needs of every child are being met (food, clothing, and shelter). Throughout this process, our partner organizations also try to find ways to give them the tools and encouragement they need to break out of poverty. This means developing educational and job training programs, providing day care for parents who must work, and in some cases offering legal and health services.
