Promote positive changes in the lives of children by volunteering with our Child Care Project in rural India.
As a volunteer on our Child Care Project, you will be working with children in holistic daycare centers, or "anganwaris," in rural India. You will be helping educate and care for underprivileged children who come to the centers daily. Lacking resources and employees, these institutions are often unable to nurture the children adequately, and therefore are in great need of volunteers.
Volunteers on this project will promote positive educational, social, and health-related changes for children in the rural states of Himachal Pradesh or Rajasthan.
You will also be trained to make nutritious meals, as well as record the health, vaccination, and nutritional condition of the children. As a volunteer with our Child Care Project, you will be directly involved in improving the lives of needy children in rural India.
As a volunteer you can:
Ensure attendance by area children to the daycare center.
Give personal attention to the children coming to the center every day.
Assist local workers in keeping health records for each child.
Prepare and help feed nutritious meals to the children.
Help organize and implement games, crafts, and outdoor activities.
Our Partners
Due to the lack of social welfare in India, local citizens have collaborated to promote health and education on a state-by-state basis. Our partner organization in India has been working to better the lives of rural residents since 2000 through volunteer-supported education, health, and vocational programs. As a volunteer in India, you will be helping promote health and education in rural villages and your work will benefit local communities for the coming generations.
