“I enjoyed each and every aspect of my two months in India. I now hope to see and understand things with a deeper perspective.”
Teach English Project Himachal or Rajasthan, India
Teach English to children and teens in rural India when you volunteer with our Teach English Project.
As a volunteer with our Teach English Project, you will work with local teachers and students in small-town schools in the rural states of Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan. You will be striving to create a positive learning environment for the children, which will encourage them to continue education throughout their lives. Volunteers will teach English and math as well as help organize arts, crafts, and games. Depending on the needs of the school, you might act as an assistant teacher or lead a class of students independently.
Besides working to educate and entertain the children, you will be giving each child individual attention, care, and mentorship. Volunteers will also be helping promote hygiene and health awareness for these young people. As a volunteer with our Teach English Project, you will have the opportunity to dramatically improve the levels of education, health, and social welfare of the youth of rural India.
As a volunteer you can:
Teach and tutor students in English and math.
Develop a creative environment for children through crafts, games, and sports.
Help create low-cost teaching materials.
Organize health check-ups for students and help create hygiene awareness.
Our Partners
Due to the lack of social welfare in India, local citizens have collaborated to promote health and education on a state-by-state basis. Our partner organization in India has been working to better the lives of rural residents since 2000 through volunteer-supported education, health, and vocational programs. As a volunteer in India, you will be helping promote health and education in rural villages and your work will benefit local communities for the coming generations.
